About me

Hi, I'm Steve,

a Power Electronics Engineer from Germany.

In my blog, I want to share my experiences from my three years in the profession after graduation, as well as from my work during semester break while studying, internships, and, of course, the experiences I gained as a teenager with my hobby, "Electronics."

Additionally, in some posts, I aim to guide you through the realities of the field, showing you what the world of electrical engineering looks like beyond the polished image of lab coats—where things can occasionally go wrong.

If you're worried about starting a career as an engineer, I'll try to reassure you with this:

"It's not as bad as it seems, you just need to learn the right way to handle problems."

Continuing on, my goal is not only to share the technical knowledge and skills I've acquired over the years but also to highlight the challenges and triumphs that come with working in this field. Engineering is a profession that demands both creativity and precision, and while it can be daunting at times, it is also incredibly rewarding.

Throughout my blog, I will delve into various topics that are crucial for anyone interested in electronics and electrical engineering. From fundamental principles to advanced concepts, I will cover a wide range of subjects, including circuit design, power conversion, control systems, and more. I'll also discuss the latest trends and innovations in the industry, helping you stay up-to-date with new technologies and methodologies.

One aspect I believe is important to address is the transition from academic study to professional practice. Many new engineers feel unprepared for the realities of the workplace after years of theoretical learning. I'll share insights on how to bridge this gap, offering advice on how to apply what you've learned in school to real-world projects. I'll also talk about the importance of continuous learning and how to keep your skills relevant in an ever-evolving field.

In addition to technical topics, I'll touch on the softer skills that are essential for success in engineering. Communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and project management are all critical components of a successful engineering career. I'll provide tips on how to develop these skills and how to navigate the dynamics of working in multidisciplinary teams.

Moreover, I'll share personal anecdotes and lessons learned from my own career journey. These stories will not only illustrate the highs and lows of being an engineer but also serve as motivation and encouragement for those just starting out. Engineering can be challenging, but it is also a field where you can make a tangible impact on the world around you. Whether you're designing a new power system, developing innovative electronics, or working on cutting-edge research, the work you do as an engineer has the potential to change lives.

I also want to create a space where we can have open discussions about the less glamorous aspects of the profession. Mistakes happen, projects don't always go as planned, and sometimes, things fail. These experiences, however, are invaluable learning opportunities. I'll talk about how to handle setbacks, learn from failures, and continue to grow as a professional.

Finally, I want this blog to be a resource for both aspiring engineers and seasoned professionals. Whether you're a student, a recent graduate, or someone with years of experience, I hope you'll find something useful and inspiring here. I'm excited to share my journey with you, and I look forward to learning from your experiences as well. Let's explore the fascinating world of electrical engineering together, one post at a time.
